Mo Dao Zu Shi extra: From night to morning

bigbadredpanda:

I hadn’t planned to translate another chapter but I recently discovered the extra story「朝暮」exclusive to the Taiwan physical book and it’s truly a hidden gem.

I also hadn’t planned to ever write explicit content. Oh well.

Warning: Graphic sex scene.

It was long past 9 pm and he still had not come back.

The paper lantern on the table was not yet extinguished, Lan Wangji was gazing at its hazy glow without blinking.

Rising after a long while, he walked to the entrance of the Jingshi and opened the wooden door.

He stood still for a moment. He appeared to be on the verge of stepping outside when a suspicious thud sounded from behind.

Love to bathe

[Content Warning: drunk sex]

Lan WangJi ignored him and kept staring, as if afraid that Wei WuXian would run away as soon as he blinked. Wei WuXian reached out a hand to cover his eyes. Lan WangJi ducked half of his face into the water to avoid the hand, blowing out a stream of bubbles into the water. Laughing, Wei Wuxian lightly pinched his cheek and asked, “Er-gege[1], how old are you?”

MDZS novel translations

I saw few people asking around where they can find translations of the novel, so I thought I could share some links that I know. Let’s support everyone for their hard work♥

Exiled Rebels Scanlations (translated from the very beginning till chapter 88; updates usually once a week on Sundays; final version of the novel)

and more

I have read this in a few posts but I could no longer find the source.

I would like to confirm if this quote, 无信不立 心诚则灵 精诚所至 金石为开, was indeed written/engraved somewhere in LWJ’s jingshi.

Thanks in advance.

*********************

Hi guys! If any of you knows the answer, do tell us! ❤️

无信不立,心诚则灵,精诚所至,金石为开。

Without trust, nothing can stand. With honesty, everything can come true. Complete sincerity can move even metal and stone.

The second half (精诚所至,金石为开) is an idiom that originates from Zhuangzi, one of the great Daoist philosopher. I didn’t manage to source the first half.

There is no mention of this quote in the book itself, it seems to come exclusively from the donghua.

The first time it is shown is at the end of episode 2, on the Wall of Discipline. You can make out the first half of the quote in the lower left part of the image below if you squint a little.

The second time it comes up is in episode 3 where the quote is shown in its entirety, again as part of the Gusu Lan Sect family rules.

No indication of it being actually written anywhere in the jingshi but Lan Wangji might keep a copy of the family rules in his book collection…
